Virginia-Zoo
exhibits over 350 animals!

Virginia-Zoo, Norfolk VA. exhibits over 350 animals, beautifully manicured grounds and offers a fun-filled day for all. The Virginia Zoo has demonstrated a commitment to wildlife.

The zoo is positioned next to the Lafayette Park and the Lafayette river and covers 53 acres of land. Virginia Zoo is home to nearly 400 animals, which range from Lions to Monkeys.

The zoo is divided into 9 differet gardens each with there own theme, each garden offers refreshments and snacks. Eight acres of the park is dedicated to Africa, in this section you will see the Lions, Elephants Giraffe, Zebra and more.

Virginia Zoo Zoo Features

Zoo Train: Climb aboard the Zoo Train for a fun and informative ride. The train is a 1/3 scale model of a C.P. and it has four coaches which can accomodate more than 8p passengers.
The tracks pass the red panda exhibit under the watchful eyes of Yin and Oscar and includes a peek at the “Asia-Trail of the Tiger” construction site.

Animal Collection: Meet elephants, lions, kangaroos, meerkats and more. Go nose to nose with prairie dogs in their interactive habitat where viewing bubbles allow you to get up close and personal with these entertaining creatures.

Gardens: The zoo offers 9 gardens with there own theme.

The Virginia Zoo is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (except on major winter holidays; the Zoo is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year's Day).
