Chalk the WalkARTsplosion on Virginia Beach BoardwalkChalk the Walk event is all about participants making chalk drawings on four by four concrete blocks available right on Virginia Beach Boardwalk. Chalk-the-Walk participants are asked to incorporate the announced theme in their work.
The theme for this event is all participating artists are invited to depict in chalk their favorite bands, album covers, musical scenes from movies or TV shows, or any other scenes that celebrate the joy of music.About 200 competitors complete chalk drawings and the drawings are evaluated by a panel of judges. Judges score the drawings according to criteria such as composition, use of color, adherence to theme, and creativity. There are three competitive divisions: Amateur, Professional, and Youth. The Youth division is for ages 12-16. Seperate area is available for childern under 11 to draw for fun. There is no fee to participate. Location: On the boardwalk between 16th and 18th Streets.
