Cape Hatteras Lighthouse

Cape Hatteras Lighthouse is loacted on the islands of Cape Hatteras National Seashore. The lighthouse site houses a visitors center that is open throughout the year and houses displays on the island's maritime history.

cape-hatteras-lighthouse The beacon from the light can be seen some 20-miles out to sea and has warned sailors for more than 100 years of the Diamond Shoals.

More than 1,000,000 were used to built this 208 feet tall lighthouse, and became the tallest brick lighthouse on the American coast.

The lighthouse is open to the public from early April until mid-October and visitors are welcome to climb the steps for a spectacular view of the national seashore.

Close to the visitor center is a picnic area and a natural trail featuring the spectacular views of fresh water marshes and wooded dunes of Buxton Woods. Read reviews and see what other travelers have to say.
